Dear friend,

As a valued friend in the battle against Parkinson’s disease, it is with great pleasure and excitement that I inform you of the 7th Annual “Walk with Fred” Parkinson Research Walk on Saturday, September 25th at 10:00 AM at Ocean Beach in New London, CT. This event is held to raise money to fund research at the Institute for Neurodegenerative Disorders (IND). IND is an independent medical research facility in New Haven staffed by scientists who are on the cutting edge of development of the latest tools for early diagnosis and improving treatments.

Having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease over 10 years ago, every day brings me a new challenge. However, I still consider myself lucky to be able to enjoy my life, my family and friends and I am driven by an overwhelming desire to find a cure.

For several years I have participated in clinical trials at IND to help find new and better treatments for PD. I am also proud to have served on the Board of Directors for the past five years. The research team at IND inspires me and gives me hope that one day there will be a cure for this disease. I started the “Walk with Fred” for Parkinson’s Research to do my part to help IND in its mission.

This walk-a-thon will play a major part in our fight for a cure. We have had huge success each year that we hold the walk-a-thon, and we are looking to continue that tradition through your help. There are many levels of sponsorship available, and we can offer local and statewide publicity for your business if you will join us in our quest to find a cure.

We have attracted hundreds of people and businesses over the years. The sponsors will receive considerable exposure, no matter the sponsorship level. As a further incentive, IND is also a 501(c)(3) organization.
